Orkely
Business management that runs entirely on your own machine.
Project Overview
A desktop application for freelancers and small businesses covering eight modules — clients, projects, tasks and time logs, invoicing, finance and expenses, files and backups, plus proposals and reporting in the paid edition. It runs fully offline: the database is a single local file, there is no account, no cloud dashboard and no monthly fee. Shipped as a native Windows installer through the Microsoft Store.
What Was Built
- Eight integrated modules in one application, six of them in the free edition
- Invoice lines generated from tasks actually completed, rendered to branded PDF locally
- Proposal builder whose accepted proposals convert directly into a project with pre-filled tasks
- Local backup and restore, with attachments stored against the task they belong to
- Packaged as a signed Windows installer and distributed through the Microsoft Store
Stack
The precision software, design libraries, and preflight standards deployed for this engagement:
Engineering & DTP Architecture
Single Local SQLite Database
The entire application state resides in a local SQLite file stored in the user's local app directory. Zero cloud connections, no third-party telemetry, and instant cold start speeds.
NativePHP & Electron Shell Packaging
Runs Laravel 12 directly inside an embedded PHP runtime wrapped with Electron, compiled into a signed Windows MSIX/EXE installer for direct Microsoft Store distribution.
Local PDF Generation Engine (DomPDF)
Proposals and invoices are compiled client-side from logged tasks and hourly increments directly into high-fidelity branded PDFs without external rendering APIs.
