Terms & Conditions

Standard terms governing freelance design, commercial prepress, software development, and service packages provided by Criss Design.

1 Studio Overview & Agreement

These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of freelance design, commercial prepress, software development services, and software product tool licenses provided by Cristian Istrate doing business as Criss Design (criss-design.eu), established in 2006.

By commissioning design work, purchasing a service sprint package, acquiring software licenses, or submitting an order through this website, you agree to these terms.

2 Services, Rates & Time Tracking

Criss Design provides hands-on production under the following transparent structures:

Hourly Work Pack
€19 / Hour

Flexible production for quick fixes, small edits, and ad-hoc prepress or development tasks.

Half-Day Sprint
€65 (4 Hours • 14.5% Off)

Dedicated 4-hour focused block for brochure layouts, component engineering, or multi-asset batches.

Weekly Retainer
€350 (24 Hours • 23.2% Off)

24 hours of guaranteed production capacity for agencies and teams requiring ongoing sprint output.

Honest Production Accounting: Only effective hands-on working hours are billed. Time spent on administrative breaks or pauses is excluded from client balances.

3 Commercial Prepress & Print Warranty

Our core benchmark since 2006 is "Print that goes to press without a query." All physical print artwork and production deliverables are prepared strictly to certified commercial standards:

  • Delivered as certified PDF/X files tailored to your printer's RIP specifications.
  • Exact bleed tolerances, slug margins, die-cut vectors, and folding geometry.
  • Strict CMYK color profile separation, spot-color management, and ink density limits (Total Area Coverage / TAC).

Client Proof Responsibility: While we conduct rigorous automated and manual pre-flight inspections, the client is responsible for giving final written proof sign-off (checking spelling, dates, phone numbers, and editorial content) before committing to mass industrial printing runs.

4 Software Engineering & Product Tools

For software development (web applications, native desktop applications like Orkely, and automated content engines):

  • Custom Code Deliverables: Bespoke code written for client projects is delivered cleanly documented, adhering to agreed architectural and repository standards.
  • YouTube Micro-Content Tool: Service plans include automated video production pipelines deployed as described. Operating parameters depend on YouTube API limits and client hosting environments.
  • LinkedIn PDF Carousel Tool: Perpetual licenses grant the purchaser the non-exclusive right to use the template engine for their own business and direct client deliverables. Resale of the engine itself as a competing standalone template pack is prohibited.

5 Intellectual Property & Portfolio Rights

Upon settlement of all due invoices in full, all agreed custom design deliverables, final print vector assets, and bespoke project code become the exclusive commercial property of the client.

Criss Design reserves the professional right to showcase completed and published work in its online portfolio, case studies, and social media for promotional purposes, unless a formal Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) specifying otherwise was executed prior to project kickoff.

6 Invoicing & Payment

Online sprint passes and service packages may be purchased instantly via PayPal checkout. For larger bespoke projects or enterprise retainers, payment may be made via SEPA international bank transfer upon receipt of a fiscal invoice.

Standard payment terms for bank wire invoices are 14 calendar days from invoice issue date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

7 Limitation of Liability & Governing Jurisdiction

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Criss Design's total aggregate liability arising out of or related to any service contract or deliverable shall not exceed the total fees paid by the client for the specific sprint or deliverable in question.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania and applicable European Union directives. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Bucharest, Romania.
